PFD Training: Extrication

Two vehicles were brought in for this extrication training session. For those new to the concept, the basics of extrication were touched upon as well as advanced techniques. Each firefighter got the feel of the tools, as well as the ways to use and not to use them. Removal of the windsheild, hood, and roof were explained with the doors being stressed to the most. The most common extrication is the removal of one or more doors. Other techniques gone over were different ways to break glass and proper care and maintenance of the tools.
