PFD Training: Search and Rescue

To set up for a search and rescue class, all the trucks were moved outside to simulate a large open room. The firefighters broke into groups of three and took turns doing a mock search and rescue using their hoods to blindfold them. Various items such as garbage cans and mop buckets were used as clutter to show chairs, couches, or other household objects. Rope was tied to doors and other objects to simulate downed electric or cable wires. As you can see, it is fairly easy to get entangled when you cannot see where anything is.
